Hello, I hired a developer on Upwork to create a cost calculator for a website I had built on wix. I am in the courier/delivery industry. This cost calculator is hooked into googles api for mapping as the cost calculator figures part of its estimate on mileage. My developer is leaning towards recreating my website and hosting on a different platform. He is mentioning he can not get the cost calculator he built integrated into wix he says. He says his cost calculator is a My sql database and the code will not integrate to wix. I personally know nothing about IT stuff and figured I would ask here before giving up my already built wix site. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!
Tony
Wix has its own Wix Data database integrated into the system. For more information refer to the Wix Data API .
Here is an example interface with the Google Maps Place API:
Using the Places API from Google Map Services
Demonstrates geolocation queries using the Google Maps Places API web services. The queries are performed in backend (server-side) web modules.

Ok thank you for that info. It sounds like the cost calculator I paid to have built will not integrate to my wix site if I understand you correctly. I will have to pay again to have another calculator built utilizing WIX database, this correct?
@tony72793 I of course have no idea what your developer did. The Wix database has full database functionality, but it’s not mysql.
@yisrael-wix Thank you Yisrael for the info thus far. I just recently received the final product being the code to my cost calculator. Is it possible or even advised to share that code here on this forum to see if it is replicable or installable on to my WIX webpage? I really need to get this or something that functions exactly like it on to my website as soon as possible. Having virtually zero knowledge of the IT world I am at a bit of a stand still with this until I can find someone to help who is very knowledgeable with WIX.
