We recently had a Mind Meld where @mia-bali showed us an incredible demo of dropshipping with Wix Stores via integration with Modalyst .
You may be wondering what dropshipping is: it’s where you integrate your online store to a platform (in this case, Modalyst) that connects product suppliers with store owners. We also saw a demo for Printful , an on-demand dropshipping app that allows you to sell custom designed t shirts, posters, hats and more.
Here are a few of the questions that were asked (and answered!) during the Mind Meld:
Q. How does Dropshipping work with collections within Wix Stores?
A. Products imported from Modalyst behave like any other products, you can put them in collections just like any other product in Wix Stores. The only difference is that there are some restrictions in changing the product variants - as these are set by what is available by the merchant on Modalyst.
Q. Is there a cost for adding Modalyst to your Wix website?
A. Wix does not charge you for adding Modalyst to your site. Modalyst has a freemium business model. You can import up to 25 products for free, but if you’d like to import more, you will need to update to one of Modalyst’s packages. If you want to access a Name Brand supplier, you will also need to upgrade to one of Modalyst plans (whereas independent brands are included within the free tier).
Q. If my Wix Store uses Modalyst products, will I still need to purchase a Business Premium Plan in order for my customers to purchase products?
A. Yes - the checkout process will still occur through Wix Stores, on your Wix website, and therefore you will still need a Business Premium Plan to complete the transaction.
Q. When we (the business owner) makes a payment to Modalyst, what payment gateway does Modalyst use to charge you? Paypal? Stripe?
A. You can pay Modalyst through Paypal and Stripe.
Q. How can we integrate Wix Coupons with Wix Stores and Modalyst?
A. Wix Store coupons will be applied to products imported through Modalyst in the same way they affect products created within Wix Stores.

A. Yes! You can download the Modalyst or Printful app from the Wix App Market right now!
