No repeater allows me to connect to my database

I created a database collection of upcoming activities and now want to list them in date order. I picked a repeater and tried to connect it to the database, but nothing happens. I tried a different repeater. Same problem.

I successfully linked the database to a slideshow elsewhere in the template I picked, so I know I understand the concept, but when I click the database symbol I get nothing.

I’m open to listing my events a different way, as long as I don’t type each one manually

I’ve searched for help most of the afternoon, but there are huge holes in WIX support, including at least one 404.

Any ideas?

Correction. It is producing a pop-up box, but outside of the web page. By moving the repeater to the bottom of the page, I managed to get just enough of the pop-up to add the dataset. However, when I came to assign individual fields to the components of the repeater, the pop-up box was once again hidden beyond the top menu, with no option to scroll up. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
