Order Status Automation (Fulfilled to Unfulfilled)

With the new receipt feature, I need to ensure (legally bound by my profession) that a receipt is issued once the ‘in-person’ service is complete and paid. However, once an online booking is placed, the order status automatically is ‘fulfilled’ and if a client pays on-line at the time of booking, Wix would automatically send a receipt prior to the service being complete. Unsure if there is a way to set a booking to default to ‘unfulfilled’ at the point of the booking? Or perhaps the solution is to complete an ‘automation’ whereby once a booking is placed, that the status changes to ‘unfulfilled’? Then I could, once the service is complete and paid for, I can manually change the status so the receipt is sent?

If you are using bookings, fulfillment is not relevant (it is for Wix Stores) so you should be able to set up your services for in-person payments which then requires someone to manually set to “paid” once the service is completed.

From the docs:
" * The “fulfillment” column is only relevant if you also have store orders. You can hide it if you only use Wix Bookings."

More information about the orders tab for bookings can be found here Wix Bookings: About the Orders Tab | Help Center | Wix.com

Thank you. For manual payment once the service is completed, I agree. I allow for on-line payment currently as well. If a client pays upfront, will Wix send a receipt immediately? If so, is the solution to not allow for prepayment?

In your dashboard, check under automations “installed for you”. I haven’t set up a bookings site recently, but on an older one I have -this is what I see, and you can turn it off if it’s active.
