Payment made with paypal option stuck in pending for several days

Question:
I have a payment made by the customer using the pay pal option. The customer contacted me because they never got a confirmation but the products cleared from their cart. The customer sees the payment in PayPal but I do not. The payment is has been stuck in pending status for several days. Pay Pal has no record of the transaction. The customer then redid the payment

What are you trying to achieve:
The transaction is stuck in payouts with a status of “pending” the refund button is disabled. I need the payment to process. I already fullfilled the order since the customer contacted me about the issue directly.

What have you already tried:
I checked with PayPal and they have no record of the transaction even when I give them the transaction number.

Additional information:
I have been able to successfully transact with pay pal on other orders in the last few days.

Did you find out what happened. I am in this situation.

Unfortunately it means that the payment is stuck in “authorization”.

The problem here is that PayPal is expecting Wix to “finish charging” the payment. The reality is that Wix does NOT save credit card information to “finish charging” a purchase.

So basically, the payment is stuck in limbo and their money is frozen somewhere between Wix and PayPal.

PayPal will unfreeze the payment between 2-30 days.

This happens a lot with PayPal. Square or Stripe are better options for payment processing. It MAY happen with another payment provider that is not PayPal, yes. But it is very very very rare.
