Wix Code arrived just on time! Check www.destinfinit.com
For a long time I have been designing the architecture of a platform that allows people to discover amazing places, craft their own travel experiences and connect with local providers from the tourism sector. To deploy the platforms’ full functionalities I needed a powerful and dynamic online development tool. As I am not a programmer I decided to deploy initially a static website using Wix’s standard tools (which are already quite powerful for non programmers), and then progresivelly, somehow, add new functionalities. Nevertheless, this “initial” stage required require anyway to manage a large amount of information about 50 amazing places in South America and related tours provided by a local tour operator. And I was going to generate all the individual pages for each place and tour, link the information one by one between pages, and update pages’ design and information individually!!! At the moment I had no other alternative.
However, just before starting to deploy the content on line, Wix Code was launched and I joined inmediatelly, great decision! Now, something that was going to take me around 6 months, full time, with very limited dynamic functions for the final user, is almost deployed in three months, with part time dedication , and with far more posible user interactions that expected before. The concepts of Dynamic item pages, Dynamic category pages, Dataset collections and even coding functionalities, combined with the previously existing Wix’s powerful design capabilities, are a game changer for my project!
I was forseeing that, at some point, I would need to migrate from the initial Wix static website to other type of platform with the assistance of professional programmers and other complex procedures, but now I see the potential of Wix Code and it looks like with JavaScript and help of the Wix Code’s team, I will be able to progressively implement all the funtionalities of the platform I have designed!
