I’m having trouble with creating product variations, I offer just one rare piece with some options. I am trying to make one available product offering many materials and lengths with different price. Inventory is just one but Wix creates variations for all options.
I also let customer choose gemstones (just one each), material, and lengths for made to order jewelry. Is there any way I can complete this feature?
Thank you
Hi Misty, two things in Wix Stores are getting mixed here, and splitting them solves it.
- Gemstone, material and length that change the price: add them as product options (Dropdown or Choice) and use “Manage pricing” on the product to set the price per combination. Wix generates a variant for every combination, which is normal, so that part cannot be avoided.
- The “only one piece” problem: inventory is tracked per variant, so one rare piece with many combinations needs a different setup. In the product’s Inventory section, either turn off “Track inventory” (the product stays always available, good for made to order), or set each variant to “In stock” without a quantity. For a truly one-off finished piece, keep a separate product with quantity 1 and use the made to order product for the custom versions.
- If customers should pick a gemstone but you cannot give each its own price, use a Customization option (text or choice) instead of a variant. It does not create variants or touch inventory, and the choice shows up on the order.
If this helped, please mark it as Solved.
