But I don’t know what app I can use to make one like it.

BUT …

I need to make a video like this one with 13 original still images AND with the rippling water effect. I have no clue which application I can use to create my video.

Can anyone help?

For this, you will need a Video Editing app. The video I’ve provided below uses DaVinci Resolve. But the simplest workaround would be to add the images to the VideoBox, add the ripple effect, and record the screen on your live site (:

Boy, what a nice guy.

I’ve been searching high and low for the right application, and had not discovered the DaVinci software.

It is simply awesome.

Now I have to decide whether or not I want to do this myself or hire a competent video editor to do the work. If I can get the client to pony up, I will probably hire it out. While I would love to do the work myself, I am very busy with basic work and it would cost me a lot more in unpaid time to do it myself.

The budget for this site isn’t that great, but it will be my first effort to use the studio. And the special effects on the intro page have given me ideas to bump up another one of my sites where I can replace a static slider with an awesome video. And charge a reasonable fee accordingly.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond with a thoughtful and thorough reply. People like you help those of us do better work by using new and exciting creative tools.

I can remember back when Acrobat 3 was transitioning to version 4 in about 2000. I was an evangelist on the discussion boards daily helping to teach people around the world how to make print-ready PDFs when Adobe didn’t have a clue what it was doing.

Like you said, it is indeed a pleasure to share our knowledge with the fellow community members and to be able to help them. That is how I learnt Velo - by asking basic questions to the supportive people in the community and have now become a Wix certified Velo developer myself.
