Reference Field for Multiple Items?

Hello,
Is there a way to set a Reference Field to allow multiple selections?

Using the examples given in the guide, let’s say I wanted to assign a song to genres. It might be “Rock” and “New Wave,” so how would I assign it to multiple items from the “Genres” data collection?

Hi Sean,

It is only possible to select one reference field at a time.
As an alternative, you can add 2 more columns for Genre (Genre 2 and Genre 3) and add the reference there.

Depending on your specific use case, I would consider adding a “Genres” text column to your “Songs” collection.
In this column, you can keep a comma-separated list of genre names, for example:

  • funk,country
  • rock,metal
    etc…

You will later on be able to filter songs by their genre by using a “contains” filter for the “Genres” column.

What if the items to be associated is another item type from the database?

For example, I have teacher list and student list.
A teacher has multiple students and a student has multiple teachers.
How do I structure the relationship in the wix database.
