Hi all.
I would be grateful for an tips on my topic as I have explored options and feel I can’t achieve my aim.
I have a site with a members area to support a forum. I have a default registration form allowing email and Google/Facebook sign up. When users sign-up they appear in the member directory.
My problem is that I want to show users nicknames in the directory so they can interact but not expose their real names.
Users can add a nickname in their profile but it cannot be collected during registration it seems. This relies on members realising they need to do this retrospectively which is not ideal.
I seem unable to capture this at registration or alternatively to edit the profile card to avoid showing a name Vs nickname there.
I think there are many reasons members full names should not be shown so it would be great to hear if others have experienced this and if so did you resolve it.
I have looked at custom registration forms but they don’t seem to solve for this.
Thanks.
