Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible to set up Stripe Connect, the marketplace payment infrastructure from Stripe, with our Wix store. I know that this is not an out-of-the-box feature in Wix, but I am wondering if anyone has done it with Velo already.
If anyone has an idea how to approach this or is able to share some experiences, I am looking forward to hearing from you
Thanks a lot!

To clarify, you are not trying to accept Stripe as a payment option in your store?
And no, I’m not very familiar with the Stripe Connect product, but in general you can integrate 3rd party API’s to your site using Velo.

Hi Amanda,
thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
I am not simply trying to accept payments, but rather take a commission and pay the rest to the teachers on our platform. Stripe Connect: “Marketplaces and platforms use Stripe Connect to accept money and pay out to third parties. Connect provides a complete set of building blocks to support virtually any business model”
Do you know if this is usable for our Wix service?
Hello again.
So there will be a few things you will need to research and this will start with the stripe documentation. You will need to look through how the say you can integrate the service. For example, is there an API?
After that we can look at how you would integrate into Wix through Velo. For example, if Stripe exposes an API that you can use then you can look through the documentation here (some linked above) for integrating 3rd party APIs
Finally, as far as integrating into a WixStore, that will depend on what you want to do and where. It may require a custom stores solution, but potentially not depending on where you are trying to put the functionality. With out of the box apps, there are some places you can extend the functionality and some that require a fully custom solution.
Again, I am definitely not an expert on that Stripe product but my general response here is yes, you can integrate 3rd party services. So it is potentially possible. Perhaps someone in the community here will have more insight/have worked with Stripe Connect.
Has ANYONE come up with a no-coder solution to adding Stripe Connect, to our website / apps? Without a budget, we are stuck with this major roadblock. Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance!
Example: If an app or plugin?.? can be built in a way that (the no-coder / us) could create an internal collection say with a “client-id” text field for our users to paste their id into), a “set-price” field (for our users to set their price), a whatever else field (that works realistically since I’m not a developer) and then the app/plugin generates the api / json using the hidden secrets (with our stripe client id inserted) of the app builder/us to make it happen…
This would solidify Velo in this market in my opinion! I have learned and tested almost all of the builders at this point and can’t remember half of them or my name at this point. But I am at a point of narrowing it down to only a couple (AS A NO-CODER / DESIGNER / FIGURE OUT ANYTHING BUT MISSING just THAT ONE little THING to make it work… kind of person). Velo seems to be the best in most ways so far!
There are no no-code solutions to implement this currently through WiX, you can request this through our wishlist but the process for evaluation takes time and likely will not fall within your business needs currently. I do not see any requests for this feature currently open.
You can look in the Marketplace to hire a trusted Velo developer that can help you assess implementing this solution.
You could also try reaching out to Stripe as well as they are a partner and would likely be interested in any needs for their users
As a reminder, this forum is for developers to come and work with each other on coding problems and share work. If you have any more questions about this I would recommend reaching out to customer care
Oh, I saw questions and answers in most of the forum so I thought it was a place to ask this question and get an answer so that I can either use Velo or move on.
I mean no disrespect but I have tried asking support and spent the entire day replying back and forth repeating that I was using velo (developer…) not wix site. I then re-explained multiple times of what I was trying to accomplish (connect not just stripe) and then at the end of the entire day, I have not received a response. I have been through this exact process with over 10 different platforms, imagine that if you will.
So then I submitted it just recently in the wishlist that you mentioned. Not sure how long that will take to be posted for voting?,? Just don’t know.
I tried submitting a request to partners and only received partners from other countries and wasn’t able to even type what I needed done in my request. Velo is amazing but I’m drained and out of budget lol. I was hoping to find an easy solution to this one remaining thing we need to start seriously building out the app/website. Let me know if you have any ideas that don’t go as described above if you will, thanks.
Yes, this is the place for asking question about coding in Velo but in your last comment you mentioned you wanted a no-code solution.
If you are looking to interact with a 3rd party product you will need to do some research and see how they expose it to be integrated. For example, is there an API?
So, once you know how from the Stripe side they say to integrate you can look at the best way to accomplish that in Velo.
So, my first question is - how does Stripe state that you can integrate their product? The answer to that will drive how you can attempt this in Velo
Thanks Amanda! And yes I do want a no-code solution in the end… for simplicity and efficiency… I’m ONLY somewhat (barely) fluent in this but not enough to accomplish it completely. I know it’s going to take an api and we both should know that Stripe has that api to integrate vendor payouts through connect (if not you specifically Amanda, then someone in here). I know it needs authentication / headers / json responses I just get lost in how to accomplish it. I know there’s someone out there that can do this EASILY if not copy an existing customization they have already done…or simply clarify a couple simple things that give me the big picture on where to place things / api requests / concept… I just can’t find them. I know I can hire a fresh developer but we unfortunately spent our budget trusting in the last platform, hired a developer, bought plugins (etc) and found out in the end that the finished app was just too slow for us to launch without a customer service catastrophe.
We have a solution that will change and drastically improve something that is already highly successful and proven many times over. By the time I keep going through this I’ll be dead, broke or too tired to accomplish it. So yes, I’m barely hanging on and trying to figure it out on my own which I suppose that if I am going to spend the amount of money we will spend over time, I should be able to ask the questions to make this happen directly from the business owning the platform where we will be a customer.
Why can’t someone simply make (or point me to one) a tutorial that shows (in lay man’s terms) that you create this request by pasting this “here”, then click this “get or post” button to paste it exactly “here” on this specific page, then copy this json (and change this, this or this and paste it here, create a text field that lets our app user’s paste “their stripe client id” here so they can get paid from the app owner (us)???
I get lost in the process and I know it’s mostly due to researching all of documents by different companies (you Velo, Wix, stripe, etc) who seem to leave out just a few simple key words that would tell me how to actually accomplish it. It’s always worded in a way that you have to go get lost trying to learn the entire foundation of this simple thing that you are trying to do, to actually do it.
This is what I’m looking for!!! Can someone (the company we will be a customer of or a developer that posts answers in this forum) “actually” help me/us use this platform to do business with??? This would be helping a brand newbie designer/developer/no coder build a proven solution in a specific industry. That is my question and I will not continue to try this with the customer care that I spent an entire day re-explaining the simplest of things for no response in the end…with all due respect!!! I don’t have that time and energy left. Anyone??
If Stripe is using an API you will want to look into using wix-fetch. There is no specific tutorial for working with the Strip API. Every API is different so the resources I have are more generic… how to connect to and get data from an API.
Perhaps someone in the community has more knowledge of your specific scenario.
Here is also a video about using Wix Fetch that perhaps will help illuminate the “how” a little better
Thank you. I “think” this is going to help alot. I’m still getting brain tired wearing too many hats but can’t give up now
. I would still greatly appreciate ANY simple solutions or ideas on how to accomplish this and maybe turn it into a paid plugin or solution for others if anyone has them??? Thanks and I’ll just keep posting here if anything specifically related occurs. Thanks
Seconding this. I’d also love to know how to integrate the ability to take in payments from a “customer” and send to the “seller” with no code or simple code.
Handling all the private/public keys, the account id’s, etc is quite difficult for me so this would be very handy
