In the wix editor when you edit text you can set text effects like shadows. The editorX does not give you an option to set the shadow effect for text. Or is there a different way to set text shadows?
There is currently no support for text or block level element drop shadows in Editor X. I would also like this feature and you can find my feature request thread about it here .
Thanks Hank. This is a very basic functionality that shouldnât take more than 1/2 hour for them to implement and test. They already have it in the wix editor. So it is not like they have to spend hours figuring out how to do it. I am having a tough time deciding whether it is even worth redoing my website using editor X since some of these little things are not there yet. The only positive thing I see is the fluid layout and the breakpoint support.
Hey, I donât know what Wixâs codebase or back end looks like so I canât comment on exactly how long features take to implement. All of the developers definitely understand how text-shadow functions in CSS but integrating that into their build system and front end probably isnât a half hour-task.
As for if you should redo your website in Editor X or not, Iâve recently almost finished doing a very large project in it and completely recreating my employerâs site in Editor X. It has its quirks, bugs and many missing features but I am operating under the assumption that the âclassicâ Wix editor will eventually be depreciated in favour of Editor X at some point. Responsive design is the future (heck, itâs been the present for a while now) and I certainly wouldnât recommend building a new website with Wixâs regular editor at this time.
While I am trying out Editor X, itâs just unbelievable that simple things that are available in wix are not available in the so called more premium for designers/developers editor x product? No text strokes, no âcss classesâ can be added, no âedit assetsâ,⌠I just find this unbelievable that real web designers consider this product???
