I have setup a quick-and-dirty blog here where I explain how to send email from Wix Code thru Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Mailgun, SendGrid and many, many others.
It uses emailjs.com REST api. For me, it worked flawlessly. Check it out!

Can you explain why I would pay per mail when I am already payin google?
You don’t have to pay, you can use the free option which gives you 200 emails.
