The Wix restaurants app is a very powerful tool offered by Wix. Amongst the various high-quality functionalities we enjoy, there are a few things that are inconvenient for our region of India.
The delivery input section of the Wix Restaurants app in the USA or Europe-based layout. While it works perfectly there, it doesn’t work well for India.
This email is primarily sent because of our customers complaining,
Our top food aggregator apps are companies like Zomato (which owns Uber Eats India), Swiggy , etc.
The Order selection is similar but when we go to the Delivery Input, it is drastically different. The delivery input section in India is similar to the Wix Store app delivery input section with two key differences,
Difference #1:
The primary location is determined via GPS as shown below,
and can be searched via Google Maps similar to Wix Restaurants,
Difference #2:
The Address input itself is very different, please note that the input boxes have COMPLETE ADDRESS marked as important while the floor and how to reach are optional,
The last customer was fed up and added the complete address in the delivery instructions. We can’t expect this from all customers.
These are the familiar and common features people are used to in India. So making these updates for India would make it easier for Indian restaurants to grab more customers easily.
Lastly, Hyperlocal delivery is a big part of the restaurant business in India. Currently, industry giants like Zomato and Swiggy are dominating this market and taking north of 30% order commissions on each order placed. This creates an opportunity!
We plan to use Wix Restaurants to disrupt their business and build custom websites with the same familiar ordering features as shown in Zomato and Swiggy but without their huge commissions and monopoly.
Each restaurant would have its own custom branded website and ordering systems. For this, other than the above two minor updates, we also require delivery charges updates.
The Hyperlocal delivery business in India is dominated by Dunzo (backed by Google) and Wefast . Both these companies function on distance-based delivery charges i.e. they charge a fixed charge for the initial 2-3 kilometers and then a certain charge per additional kilometer.
For example:
The fixed charge for the first 3kms is ₹50 and Additional kms are charged ₹10/km.
So the delivery charge for a location 10 kms away would be 50(first 3kms) + 70(7kms) = ₹120
If the Wix restaurants app can integrate distance-based delivery fees from pick-up to drop location using Google maps, we can take a huge part of the Indian restaurant business.
Please help us achieve this as soon as possible.
