Updating inventory quantity on wix stores using wix code

Is it possible to build a script to change the inventory quantity on an item? Im thinking from either a mySQL Server or api integration with my POS System (lightspeed retail). Mostly seeing if its possible, ive heard that some databases are read only for wix code

No the Products data collection is read only at the moment.
