Virtual Product Configurator

Hi,
I am wondering if someone could help me or at least direct me in finding detailed instructions on how to code a virtual product configurator for our website. The idea is from custom building inside the interior of a van. Would like to have a picture of a blank interior van and have the web user add items like wall colors and textures, floors, tables, seats, appliances, electronics, plumbing etc etc. It sounds complicated but there must be a reasonable way to add it in as Ive seen it on other sites. There is a simplistic Demonstration in the knowledge base with a sweater, but our needs go way beyond that demonstration.
I am new to website coding, but have done basic site construction. However very much willing to learn it. Any help would be very much appreciated.

You can code it using the new layers I think, it is superadvanced because all images needs to be added and be the exact same size and match the area where they should be inserted and cover the non covered area in the van.

Thanks for replying. Is there detailed information how to go about this step by step? like an example coding?
