What is thank you page URL?

I’m setting up Google Conversion Tracking for website purchases and need to add the thank you page URL, but can’t work out what it is or how to get it?

In simple, Thank You Page is the page that the customer ends on after the checkout. Like the order confirmation page. Thank You pages are used for Conversion Tracking as the only way someone can end up on a Thank You Page is after making a purchase.

If you’re looking for the URL, then it would be http://domain.com/thank-you-page/
For example, here’s one of my dummy sites thank you page: http://soopercrate.wixsite.com/meetthemeat/thank-you-page/

If you’re stuck at adding the Conversion Tag, then please follow the below.

In order to add the Google Conversion Tracking Code to the Thank You Page, follow these steps:

  • Go to your Website Settings.
  • Click on “Tracking & Analytics” at the bottom of the Left Side Menu.
  • Click on “New Tool”.
  • Click on “Custom”.

If Google is telling you to add one Tag to appear on all pages, then first add that by copy pasting the code into the box.

Here’s a screenshot of what you’ll see once you click on “Custom” for reference:

  1. Paste the tracking code into the Pink box.
  2. Rename “Custom” to “Google Conversion Remarketing Tag” in Yellow box.
  3. Leave the Green box as is if Google tells you to add the code on all pages.
  4. Select where Google is recommending you to add the tag, whether in the Head or Body. And if it’s in Body, then at the beginning or at the end.

Once that’s done, you can move on to adding the code to the Thank You Page. If you’re using the Wix Stores app, then here’s how:

  • Go to your Website Settings.
  • Click on “Tracking & Analytics” at the bottom of the Left Side Menu.
  • Click on “New Tool”.
  • Click on “Custom”.

Here’s a screenshot of what you’ll see once you click on “Custom” for reference:

  1. Paste the tracking code into the Pink box.
  2. Rename “Custom” to “Google Conversion Tag Thank You Page” in Yellow box.
  3. In the Blue Box, select “Choose Specific Pages” as you want the Tag to be live only on the Thank You Page. Then click on “Select Pages”, scroll down to the end and you’ll see the “Wix Stores” list and under that, select the “Thank You Page” as highlighted in the Green Box.
  4. After that, select where Google is recommending you to add the tag, whether in the Head or Body. And if it’s in Body, then at the beginning or at the end.

After that, hit “Apply” and your Google Conversion Tag should be live on the website.
