Can anyone tell me why Wix code is failing to work in Safari? Works great in Chrome and Firefox.
If they’re writing a coding system (sort of closely related to javascript) why it should not work on all platforms?
Really need this to work ASAP. Just launch a corporte site that worked last week but not now???
Hi,
Wix code works on Safari.
Is there a specific functionality that doesn’t work for you? Can you please share your site so we can inspect?
PLEASE HELP!!!
This code works great in Chrome but NOT in Safari, WTF?
I have three images sitting behind my video that simulates the header and menu.
Why is this not working in safari? Works correctly in Chrome.
Here the link: https://www.sudprop.com/splashpreload2
$w.onReady(() => {
waitForLoading();
});
function waitForLoading()
{
setTimeout(() => {
$w(‘#video’).hide(‘FadeOut’);
}, 13000);
}
We’re looking into it.
I appreciate it.
None of this would be an issue if Wix could provide a way to hide the video playback arrow and the end of the my opening movie. Is there a way in Wix code to hide it or stop the video before if hits the last frame?
Thanks,
Can you please give me and update on this problem? My client is going nuts! This should not issue with just one browser, Safari. Please help be resolve this problem. I feel I’ve been left hanging.
Anyone out there that can help with this problem?
There must be a solution.
Please help if you can.
Hey! I also have a question regarding Safari! Certain people can’t read my blogposts when they open it on Safari… They can read the first couple of lines, but they can’t scroll down to read the rest… Is this because they have an old version of Safari? It’s really annoying anyone know how I can solve this? Thanks for the help!
My Wix web site is no longer viewable at all in Safari Version 9.1.3 on my Mac running OS 10.9.5. For a while I was also unable to get it to show up in either Firefox or Opera, although by changing a bunch of settings in Firefox it seems to once again be working there. (Opera is still showing a blank page, like Safari.) It occurred to me that Wix is the reason that this is not showing up when I tried to view this help page in Safari, and I also got nothing but a blank page (but the page showed up in Firefox). Since I mainly use Safari, I guess this means that I won’t be able to access any Wix-based web sites. This is particularly annoying, since I pay Wix to host my site. I presume that everyone else in the world still working on an older computer configured similar to mine is also just getting blank pages from Wix sites. It is worth noting that Wix does still work on my laptop running Safari 11.0.3 and OS 10.13.3. However, on my main workhorse Mac, I can neither edit my site nor see it at all.
Hey
I have two clients that have Safari 9.1.x and El Capitan on Mac OS and their Wix websites is just white and blank. So there must be some kind of issue even with the public face of the site. I know the backend / admin / editor is not good using Safari if you compare to Chrome. But this public part of pages and these needs to be rendered on all browsers that people use.

um is this resolved?
Hi All!
Everything seems to work as usual in Safari.
If anyone still encounters issues of this kind, please let us know.
Doron.
Hi - Experiencing significant problems with Safari Version 9.0.3 (11601.4.4) and OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 (15D21). The first sections of content on the home page aren’t showing and the Blog and Research pages are blank. Seems to be working fine of Edge and Chrome.
Please advise a.s.a.p.!

thanks you.
My art society website can not be viewed on Apple IPad or phone running less than IOS version 10. IOS version 9 is a 32 bit operating system whereas 10 is 64 bit. We have recently rewritten our web site huttart.co.nz and since then it doesn’t work on devices running less than 10. I assume we have used a WIX item on our website that is not compatible with older 32 bit IOS Apple devices.
Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, one can not upgrade older 32 bit IOS apple devices, to verison 10 or above as version 10 is a 64 bit operating system which simply can not run on 32 bit devices. It just wont fit.
I have now purchased the latest IPad Pro so that I can view my art society’s website.
I don’t know whether there is a WIX 32 bit / 64 bit switch that website designers can use so that they can consciously decide to design sites that will work on older devices.
@onmccarthy the antifanboy in me says thats what ppl get for buying into a dead man’s hype
the helper in me sends you here though Troubleshooting iPad and Tablet Live Site Issues | Help Center | Wix.com, nothing to do with Code, ALL wix sites do not work with what you mentioned and the only way is to have your “viewer” update their ios or buy a new device depending on if it can be updated to 11.x.
Quite frankly, a 3 year old device these days is going to be outdated and rather obsolete hardware for dealing with latest and stable release technology. Not to mention security flaws that remain unpatched on such systems. Sad state of affairs from cost stand point, but tech is what it is and does not slow up or stop for anyone or anything really and it only will get worse in terms of how often we might have to change devices in the future. There is a reason for all the options being rolled out by cell carriers for easy upgrades and continues leasing of the latest device for a fixed fee per month, etc.
@onmccarthy, as Omid pointed out, iOS 10 is the minimum version that Wix supports. However, you’d need a really old device to not be able to update it to iOS 10. Here’s an article listing the supported devices: https://www.macworld.com/article/3118752/ios/which-iphones-ipads-and-ipods-support-ios-10.html
I’m not sure what your concern about 32-bit vs. 64-bit is with regard to iOS. That transition happened over many years and many iOS versions, and most users should not have to worry about it. As long as the device is supported under iOS 10, it should work.
@james, Wix no longer supports Safari 9.x: https://support.wix.com/en/article/supported-browsers
However, El Capitan can be updated to Safari 11: Safari 11 for macOS Sierra & OS X El Capitan Released
Hope this helps.
Few days ago my website still worked on Safari (Version 11.1.2), now it doesn’t work, only on Chrome.
Hi, can you specify what exactly isn’t working? I just casually checked your site on Safari and it seems to be working… Thanks.
