Hi Wix Development and Marketing Teams! Firstly, thanks for a great platform and environment! Wix Code finally brings Wix Platform-developed Web Sites into the major leagues!
I’m sure you all have a lot of “nice to haves” and “need to haves” already on your list of things to do. I am building a site centered around appointment bookings and need to integrated with and extend the current Wix Bookings feature via Wix Code. Some of the things I would love to be able to do:
- Hook into Wix Bookings DB Collections (e.g. beforeInsert, afterInsert, etc.)
- Make use of any published APIs with respect to the calendar, workflow, etc.
- Hooks in the current workflow (e.g. user exits) would be a great help
- Use all supported authorization implementations (e.g. ACLs, Roles, Policies, etc.)
I know the above list covers a lot of code and functionality (maybe some that does not currently exist) but IMHO, it would be a giant leap forward with respect to allowing web developers to produce a top-notch native booking system for their customers.
For now, I will most likely on-board to the Square Appointments product as they offer more basic functionality out of the box (although no back-end entry points from them either). Also, I would gladly pay extra subscription charges for a professional, highly-extensible and open appointment booking management system as I’m indeed going to pay Square to use theirs.
