Wix Database Sandbox to Live sync issues?

Am I going crazy? When I make changes from the wix editor on database entries (the sandbox database), and then synchronize it with the live database, not everything is changed. For example, when I remove a record from the sandbox and sync it with live, the record isn’t removed from the live version of the database. Same goes for when I remove a value from a record (ie, unchecking a box), and then syncing it, that’s not changed in the live version either. Is the sandbox db NOT designed for doing exactly this?

  • Removing an item from Sandbox and syncing your collections does not remove it from your Live data.

  • Items are added or updated in your Live collection based on the item’s ID field:

  • New items from the Sandbox collection are added to the Live collection.

  • Updated items from the Sandbox collection overwrite items in the Live collection.

Thanks @Odar for that reply! I was having the same issue.

The fact that

completely bewilders me. What is the point of that?? Now I have to do that manually every time I delete something from the sandbox rather than having the convenience of an actual full syncing.

This issue just caught me out today as well.
It is incredibly inefficient that you cannot work within the sandbox, by removing data, and syncing those changes through to the LIVE systems.

The fact that once you do the initial SYNC, if you need to remove entries you need to do that on the LIVE database…why?

It just seems the Sandbox is only really used to set up the initial data collection for the LIVE database, and or any new entries. But if it can SYNC new information to LIVE, why cannot it also SYNC removals as well.

Can we please request WIX to possibly correct this behavior?

@snaggletooth FYI, we’re rolling out a change to this functionality so the Sandbox will be entirely optional. Stay tuned!
