Hi all, how do you connect form elements from a Wix Form to a dataset? Many thanks, Jamie
I mean, I can create fields in the Sandbox mode, but how does one make these link to the actual fields in the Wix Form?
Simply choose the wix form that you want from the choice given and it will automatically add a dataset for you with that name.
Then simply connect up the inputs within the form to the relevant fields in the dataset by clicking on the required element and then clicking on edit field.
Scroll down this window and make sure that the element is linked to the right field.
Thanks, when scrolling down said window the only thing it allows me to connect that field with is Wix Contact data rather than the Data Collection / Dataset?
Openb up wix forms and choose your form from the choice on screen, for this example I choose price quote.
Then it will automatically add a price quote default form to your page and add price quote dataset as well.
The user inputs already in the wix form are already linked to the price quote dataset, you also have the option to sync them with contacts too.
If you don’t need a user input that is already on the form then simply delete it and you can simply add new user inputs yourself.
Simply click on the wix form and then manage fields and then add new field and choose your required choice.
Any new field added from the seven choices here will be automatically entered into your wix form dataset so it will already be connected.
Making up your own user input form with code is much easier than wix forms as you can set it up as you wish and not limited to the choice at the start of wix forms. Plus you can call your dataset whatever you like and not have to have a dataset called by your form choice.
The same goes with email replies sent out to the user who submitted a form, with wix forms you get a automatic email sent out regardless if you have setup an wix automation or not. With your own form and code you can setup triggered emails and wix automations that are branded and to your own design.
