Wix Forms vs. forms built with datasets and user input fields

An anyone summarize for me the differences between building form with WIX Form and building it manually by putting a dataset on a page and binding user input fields to it? Especially with respect to automation and contact list syncing, but any other important isuues as well. Thanks!
