Wix is automatically publishing site after saving

I have dealt with two Wix websites for clients now, and have experienced the same bug in both of them, and it’s a major flaw.

For both sites, I’m creating new pages, and setting things up. So after I’m done with work, I save the site (not publish), expecting it to remain in this state until I publish it, leaving the live site unchanged.

However, the next day I notice the changes appear on the live site, which I did not publish. I contacted both clients to ask if they have published, and they both say no.

So I take a look at one of the site’s history, which shows my manual save, but since then, there are at least 10 items showing Publish, about 30 minutes apart from each other.

Surely this isn’t normal behaviour? My question is: how can I stop this automatic publishing from happening?

There’s no support for Wix, it’s just all knowledgebase articles. No live chat, no email. I did see a phone number, but that’s no good for me.

Don’t Wix staff use the forum?

Failing that, just feedback from other users would be helpful to find out if this is how things normally work, or if there’s something wrong.
