We currently have two options for shipping our products in Wix Stores: a flat shipping rate and in-person pickup at our store location.
When we started, we only had in-person pickup available. I’ve recently added shipping, but the checkout page isn’t giving the customer the option to choose. It automatically adds the flat shipping fee, and the “Delivery Method” section is not interactable.
Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!
This usually happens when Wix is only detecting one valid fulfilment option for the order, so it automatically applies that method instead of giving the customer a choice.
A few things I would check:
- Go to Dashboard → Shipping, delivery & fulfillment and make sure Pickup** and Flat Rate Shipping are both active.
- Check whether pickup was added to the same relevant region/location setup as the shipping option. If the customer’s address only matches the shipping rule, Wix may only show shipping.
- Check the products in the cart. If you are using delivery profiles, Wix will only show the delivery methods that apply to the products in that cart.
- Make sure the pickup option has a visible name at checkout, for example “Store Pickup” or “Collect from Store”. Wix says customers see the pickup name at checkout, so if it is not configured correctly it may not display as expected.
- Test in an incognito/private window with a normal customer checkout flow, not while logged in as the site owner.
Also check whether the pickup option is enabled for online orders and not only set up as a store/location setting. The checkout will only show delivery methods that are valid for that order.
