2.5 % fee on events is a show-stopper …

HI,

Unfortunately, the newly added 2.5 % fee on events created is a show-stopper.

I understand that you want to harvest from events with a service fee. Even though customers already pay their subscriptions (?).

But the real problem occurs when events get quite expensive the service fee has no upper limit. A 2.5 % fee on an event that costs i.e. 4.000 € simply becomes a show stopper. To pay a 100 € fee is too steep both for the event holder and their customers. And has a negative effect on selling events in a competitive market.

I would advise you to revisit this solution and consider an upper limit - i.e. 10 € per ticket sold. Otherwise, customers with more expensive events will need to change to another platform.

All in all, this is causing lost clients and forces me to reconsider the strategy of moving my business to another platform.

It’s a rip off. Will be moving platforms for sure.

Just use eventbrite, they have the same fee but they actually advertise the event for you to attract more sales.

It’d be ok if it had all the whistles and bells you’d expect, we’ve been using the platform for over 10years now with little change to event management and this charge will impact our ticket sales by nearly 20K.

its very difficult to pass these fees on, we are being forced out of the market. Its simply too much to bear.

I have had contact with support on several occasions and was told they would look into a differentiated fee (a lower percentage the more the ticket price rises). 2.5 % does not make sense when selling events for + 1.000 €. Its absurd. I already had client choosing different platforms for only that reason.

But the only response from @WIX so far is a reminder that my fee will be activated in February.

I know you can do better …
