Wix’s built-in product ribbons are great for simple use cases. If you just need a quick “Sale” or “New” ribbon, they get the job done.
Where they become limiting is flexibility:
- Ribbons have to be added and removed manually.
- Ribbons can’t be automatically applied using rules (collections, price, inventory, discounts, etc.).
- Ribbon designs have limited design customization.
- Only one ribbon can be shown on a product at a time.
- Ribbon text is fixed (it can’t automatically show values like “25% Off” or “Only 3 Left”).
