I have my main menu bar on the header of my website, however i want to add the dynamic category page to the menu bar, how can i do this as in the pages ‘info’ doesnt have the ‘hide from menu’ button like others
Hi,
When you create a dynamic page, you’re designing one page layout that can be used over and over again, each time displaying a different item from your database collection. Since a dynamic page displays a different item each time it’s viewed, it’s not like a regular page. A regular page stores its content in the page itself, while the content for a dynamic page is stored in a database collection. Therefore, there’s no option to add it to the menu. Maybe, you should consider adding a regular page and add buttons (or any other elements) that are linked to the category dynamic page. Click here to read more about dynamic pages.
Best,
Tal.
Hi tal,
i have just tried to make a regular page and ive added a table to link to the dataset but it comes up saying ‘first off, create a dataset’ and doesnt have a dropdown. can you help? i definitely have a dataset
Hi,
This video will help you to create Dataset.
Good luck
Roi
How about adding a link to your menu by “site menu”/ add a link, then choose the dynamic page you want and rename the link as you wish.
That is what i have done on my site, my only issue with that is that the button text color does not stay green (in my case) like if it was selectionned like whe you are on the clicked page, im stil searching for that btw if soemeone can help!
The link is indeed 99% the solution I want. Guillaume, did you finally solve the ‘not staying green’ of your menu item? This is what bothers me as well
Any help appreciated!
Also, page transistions between linked dynamic pages do not work properly, they are shown only between ‘real’ pages and going to/from a real page to a linked dynamic page. But not between 2 linked dynamic pages. These just refresh without transition animation.
No tommy, i did not find a way to make the button ‘active’ (color changing and staying upon selection.
I think this is a pretty big feature that is missing. What if you want to access the dynamic page directly from a menu? It could be a primary page that you don’t want the user to have to look for but have immediate access.
Can this be a feature request?
I have the same problem. I have a portfolio, and on that page I have clients which i would prefer to be displayed as dynamic data, where the information is stored in the database.
Could you use this? (I have not tried this yet, but my logic says it would work, maybe I’m missing something?)

In this way I can create a normal gallery for example, ans the data displayed would be from the database.
Connect the gallery to a dataset, and this element would get data from your database, althoug being a regular page.
I have to mention that your URL would not be the base URL from your database. Unfortunatly, and here I see great improvement possibilites from wix.
For exapmple with my page the URL for the page when you click “Portfolio” in the header menu would be www.mysite.com/portfolio. Then, when you click a client the URL would be www.mysite.com/Portfolio/Client. I understand this might cause some issues with google trying to crawl the site, or am I wrong?
At least for me, being a total beginner both in Corvid, Wix and my profession in general, this would do the trick for me I think.
I am having a problem with some of my dynamic pages disappearing from my menu.
So I have a parent page, then a list of sub pages (third tier) dynamic pages. For some reason, some are included in my menu bar and some are missing.
You can see dynamic page sets on the left. For some reason one of them has disappeared? How do I add the missing Dynamic Main page to the new machines catagory?
Seems like an awful lot of trouble for something I would expect to be very basic.
