Adding a Google Workspace "Shared Drive" to website

Google Drive Wix add-in doesn’t support picking to display a folder in a “Shared Drive” only “My Drive”.

I used the Google Drive add-in to successfully add a drive folder to my website and it worked as expected. We stored meeting minutes in a drive folder, and they were publicly accessible on our wix website.

Our organization switched from single personal Google Drive to a Google Workspace and the Google Drive Addin only lets me pick a folder from the “My Drive” - not from “Shared Drives” that I have access to (and are set to be public.) I think this is a limitation of the Google Wix add-in but wanted to check with you all.

I added a folder shortcut link in My Drive to the Shared Drive and the Google Drive add-in lets be select it but spins w/o actually displaying the contents.

My workaround is to store the Meeting Minutes in my workspace “My Drive” and then add a shortcut in the “Shared Drives” “Public Files” folder to it. But this is less than ideal for organization reasons.

I am also looking for a solution to this problem. I pay for a Google Workspace storage account and would like to access image files in that drive. In Wix I can only see my immediate data that is directly available through my email storage.

Hi @matt-c-gauthier

Thanks for the idea regarding sharing links to a single hosting google workspace account (person), How did you fare with workaround this over time ?

I recently had to set up the same work around and It is also a problem for my organisation as the hosting account permissions will invariably break. I am sure I read that that personal google accounts don’t suffer this limitation others may consider this but be warned that this breaks nearly every security principle. There is essentially no way to keep control without a person being singularly responsible for the security of a link farm like this. IT could quickly be compromised and unforeseen content either exfiltrated or infiltrated.

24 mths later and WIX still don’t have a solution pathway it seems.
