Adding gallery to repeater in EditorX?

I see that it’s currently impossible to add a Pro-Gallery to a repeater in EditorX, but apparently it was possible to add a non-pro gallery to repeaters in the Wix editor (https://www.wix.com/velo/forum/coding-with-velo/simple-example-of-gallery-in-repeater). Are there any EditorX updates in works to either (1) add a pro-gallery directly to a repeater, or (2) add non-pro gallery options to EditorX that we can attach to repeaters?

OR has anyone figured out a velo workaround to creating a dynamic gallery within a repeater? TBH, it seems like such a waste to have a ‘media gallery’ field-type within our collections that allows for multiple image/file uploads, but then we can’t actually add these multiple media files to a repeater!

Example: as of now we can add pro-Galleries to a dynamic (item) page but not directly into repeaters on the dynamic (all) page

Will forward the feedback to the team but don’t think there would be an option for since repeaters can’t be added to repeaters nor can galleries be added.

As you mentioned you can attach a gallery to a pro gallery on the dynamic item page.

Yes, I too want the ability to add pro gallery within repeater

Thank you for the feedback and it’s been collected.

Yes please, would be amazing to get some form of gallery into a repeater. Or at least a way to populate multiple image placeholders in a repeater through one field in the database (similar to the media gallery field).
Would definitely be a major upgrade for photography pages with dynamic pages, that don’t have the same amount of content on each of the pages.
Anything like that possible at all?

so confusing…why is it even an option as a field in the collections if I can’t actually use it in this way. Super frustrating.

As mentioned below, you can use the media gallery field to connect to a gallery.

Hey @fabwiktor , check out my new tutorial, this could be a nice workaround for you:

Anyone who needs a workaround for a repeater in a repeater or gallery in a repeater item, check out my new tutorial:

Hey @evesilberx ! Awesome tutorial, I’ll try it out and see if it works for my use case. I’d be using a mosaic for the layouter. Haven’t tried it yet, but with the collapsed items, that doesn’t automatically rearrange the mosaic tiles to fit the height/width, right?

Thanks @fabwiktor ! If I am understanding correctly, using the mosaic layout might rearrange the height/width depending on how you set up the items’ measurements. Play around with the layouter to see how you can get the result you are looking for. If you’d like to keep the images’ original ratio you can change the image settings:

I would also try using the “Bricks” layout as another option:

Let me know how it goes!

Cool, thanks a lot Eve! I tried it – but as I’m mixing portrait and landscape format images it becomes a bit of a mess as the layouter only allows one item per line. The goal would be to recreate the collage style Pro Gallery where images are resized automatically, but I guess that’s a bit too far fetched for this workaround, right?
