I’m looking for a way to optimize my photo viewing in the repeaters but so far Wix Pro Galleries don’t show the “Attach to element” option when trying to add them up to a Repeater.
Only a few Galleries such as sliders do the job, but they are not what I’m looking for.
Does anyone have a solution? What’s the problem with Pro Galleries?
At the light of this, I understand better why I can’t make the website look like what I want.
I will sum up my situation:
I’ve built a website with more than 90 static pages so far. It’s a database kind of site divided in subsections. I wasn’t aware of the strict 100 static pages limitation. What I thought is that it’s recommended not to go above 100 static pages. Not that it would be the maximum.
In those static pages, I’ve used container boxes into other container boxes, I’ve used specific vectors, I’ve used Wix Pro Galleries with hover effects and full screen options when clicked on, and I’ve used different fonts to illustrate my titles and descriptions. Some of the text is bold when necessary, that means rich text.
When I’ve moved to dynamic pages, I understood that I wouldn’t be able to use the same design I was using for static pages:
A container box in a container box doesn’t work in repeaters.
A rich text field can be created in a collection but when linked to the right element on any page, it just doesn’t work and creates all sort of displaying issues (font is black only, not the right font, no rich text, and repeaters are not uniform).
The Wix Pro Galleries can’t be attached to repeaters, which means no hover option, no full screen mode as a result of a click on the galleries.
I’ve paid for a solution that basically is limiting in every aspect.
Static pages? Forget it
Dynamic pages? Full of bugs and no workaround, add to that a poor customer service.
I’ve seen messages on this forum for the same kind of issues that were addressed in 2018! I’ve not seen a single solution for these problems.
Am I forced to abandon Wix now? It’s not like I can export the content to another platform and it’s not like I can populate my site with more content. So what do I do from here?
I’m talking about working 6 hours daily after the regular job, and for what?
I’ve seen that a static page can be set as a dynamic page, however in practice its content must be linked to a dataset.
Example of bugs:
a Rich Text field configured in the Content Manager doesn’t display as a Rich Text in the Preview of a dynamic page.
Design discrepancy in repeaters do to the fonts not displaying well.
In the example below the picture is a simple image. But when it comes to adding up a specific Pro Gallery, like I said before it’s not possible to attach it to a repeater. I have to use another kind of Pro Gallery, not the one I want. As a result it doesn’t respond the way I’m looking for.
You say:
"And Wix website builder won’t have a lot limitation as you can:
Use Local IDE
Custom Element
HTML tools (from custom code panel of your Wix setting)"
This is for programmers which I’m not. What do you call local IDE? How do you create custom elements? Are there intelligible examples somewhere as to how to implement these options when people are not programmers? So far, I’ve worked on the site on my own and it did the job.
