I have a flying bird gif with a transparent background. Can i make it fly across my home page?
Great question. You probably could, depending on the GIF animation itself and the quality it has. You can use white space between objects and make it seem like it’s flying across, use it as a background on a certain element or even add it as a mouse interaction. There are lots of options!
Try on scroll animation with multiple triggers throughout the page. Or use Wix animation frontend API.
Thanks Nikoleta, do you have any recomends on the right quality to putput at to give it the best chance?
I will have to research what an API is, but i like the sound of the scroll with multiple triggers, so it follows the user down the page. Thanks!
yup, that’s a great way. I have actually created this type of website before - https://wixstudiotemplates.wixstudio.com/public_template-14
Hi, @user6034 !!
It might look really cute if it followed the mouse movement with a slight delay.
I haven’t tried doing this with Wix alone, but I don’t think it’s impossible. Thanks to you, I’ve gotten some inspiration myself—now I’ve added yet another idea I’d like to try someday…
But creating something like that can be difficult, so in your case, I think it would be better this time to simply have a bird GIF fly across the screen in response to scrolling. That said, if you just use a basic scroll animation, I feel like the bird might end up flying backward when scrolling the other way, so you may need to put a little extra thought into it.
I’ve never seen a bird flying backward before.
It depends on the source of the gif and your export restrictions, but generally, you can also convert it into a small mp4 file and use it as a video
some people make adjustments to the gif in Photoshop and export it as mp4
