Banned Marketplace

Has anyone experienced getting banned from the Wix Marketplace? Were you able to retrieve your account?

#marketplace question partners

Yes, unfortunately, some users have reported being banned from the Wix Marketplace. There are a few possibilities:

  • Wix Marketplace Policy Violation: Wix has Terms of Use outlining what’s not allowed. Violating these terms, like copyright infringement, can lead to a ban.
  • Inactivity: According to Wix Studio’s Partner Guidelines (Wix Studio: About the Partner Program Levels and Benefits | Help Center | Wix.com), being unavailable for over 90 days or not completing projects within a year can lead to profile removal.
  • Technical Glitch (Less Likely): While less common, it’s possible a technical issue might be causing the problem.

Here’s how to find out more:

  1. Check Your Email: Wix might have sent a notification explaining the ban reason.
  2. Contact Wix Marketplace Support: They can clarify why your account was banned and if there’s a chance to recover it.

Recovering a Banned Account:

Wix’s decision is final, but depending on the severity of the violation, there might be a chance for reinstatement. Explain your situation clearly and professionally to Wix Marketplace Support.

Thank you so much, I reached out to them and they are currently investigating the matter. Really hoping for a positive response and they do not provide specific reasons for the ban. This is my only source of income so it’s depressing.

Hello Generation wix

I also faced the same issue, Do you get any response from them or is your issue resolved

They took it down permanently and no longer responding to my messages. But there’s this one client, that decided to cancel his project and thought our agency was a scam, he reported us to Wix due to the IP I used when I had a meeting with him, I was out of the country btw. I also informed my success manager beforehand that I will be staying to this country during the pandemic. I also got pregnant so I cannot go back yet, but their decision was final. Wix will not listen to what the agency has to say. Sad, but it is what it is. In just one snap, livelihood is gone. They do not care about the good reviews I have on my portfolio either.

Unfortunately their policy is quite harsh, its been more than an year now. Hope you got your profile back?

Hello there, no, I never got it back. I already moved to a different country and requested to reinstate it again, but it was declined.

Hello there @anupam_sharma and @df45b9781ce25e17a345. As mentioned by CMSblocks, there are a few reasons you might be banned from the marketplace but you can reach out to customer care regarding the marketplace and they can investigate the situation.

Hi Rob, Unfortunately they do not investigate anything, they just say their decision is final. Without giving any reason, because in their terms they’ve already mentioned, wix will not provide reason for the ban! So yeah, customer support is definitely not helpful here, also to add no success manager was also assigned. in past 9 months

Regarding the success manager, as mentioned in the support article, beyond the partner level status, other factors are taken into account and if you are eligible for one, the team will reach out to get things started.

You can read about the revenue share and the levels in the program benefit which are some things that a success manager would help guide you through

Hi Rob,

Yes, I did follow up, but unfortunately, they declined. Their reasoning is still that the account was originally created in the US, even though I was in another country when the issue occurred, which doesn’t quite make sense to me, especially since that situation was out of my control.

It feels like this means you can’t actually bring your Wix partnership with you if you move countries, which is quite limiting.

I want to reiterate that I’m not trying to mislead anyone. I had genuine reviews that demonstrated I was a legitimate partner, and I only had one Wix Marketplace dispute, which was the cause of the ban. Now that I’m living in New Zealand, they still won’t reopen the account.

I really hope Wix can consider requesting proper documentation before making final decisions in cases like this.

Rob, I respect your effort in replying, but did you actually read what you sent? Pointing me back to generic articles doesn’t address the concern I raised. The issue here is not about levels or revenue share, it’s about decisions being made without transparency or accountability… and that’s what partners are struggling with.

+1 on this. Like in the Gita, we’re taught to focus on doing our duty with honesty and integrity and you clearly did that with your genuine reviews and work. It feels unfair when the system doesn’t recognize that effort. At the very least, partners deserve transparency and a chance to present proper documentation before such final decisions are made.

Hey!

I hear the frustration in what you’re sharing.

When it comes to Marketplace removals or requests to rejoin, these are always handled directly by our Customer Care team. While we can’t go into details on individual cases here in the community, I do want to note that there are extensive checks in place and Partner profiles are regularly reviewed to ensure compliance with Marketplace Terms of Use.

That said, your feedback around transparency and the ability to provide documentation has been heard, and I’ll make sure it’s passed along internally.

Thanks for the feedback @anupam_sharma. My intention was to guide you to some of the areas that success managers would help you with since you stated you hadn’t heard from one yet. The links were so you can be aware that they guide you towards revenue share opportunities, programs like the template marketplace, etc.

They do have a guideline as well on how to match with leads which details some tips like setting yourself as unavailable while stating that missed leads might lead to your suspension or removal from the marketplace. It also mentions how to submit projects, the guidelines for reviews and availability (in terms of location/rates/services) so you can keep receiving leads.

There are also resources on growth and learning like the Wix Academy, the Wix Blog, and the community right here that can help if you’re looking for assistance and guidance with scaling and improving your skills.

That said as Noah mentioned, thanks for your feedback regarding the transparency of the processes.

Thanks for sharing, Rob. I do notice though that many of your responses end up being links to general articles, which don’t really address the core concern being raised here. For example, my original question was about retrieving a banned Wix Marketplace account, not revenue strategies or generic program details. At this rate, I could also start replying with unrelated resources…. here’s a great article on how to breathe effectively …or maybe even the art of chewing food properly…both useful in life, but not quite relevant to this issue.

On a serious note, it would really help the community if we could focus replies on direct experiences or actionable steps related to Marketplace bans…

Thanks Noah..
