Important

To get Wix Hotels by HotelRunner, you need to activate the app first, then add the app to your client’s site:

  1. Click here to activate the app - no action is required, the app will be activated automatically. You’ll be taken to the Partner Dashboard, but please return to this page.

  2. Click here to add the app from the App Market to one of your client sites.

When you use the new Wix Hotels app (Beta), please make sure you understand the current limitations:

  • The new app is currently only available in English on your Dashboard.

  • You need to create a new site before installing Wix Hotels, or choose a site that’s never had the old app installed on it, to prevent having:

  • 2 Wix Hotels apps with the same icon.

  • 2 ‘Book a Room’ pages.

  • Your data won’t automatically migrate from the old app to the new one - you have to manually update any data in the new app.

  • If you’re already connected to a Channel Manager (e.g., Booking.com , Airbnb…), you need to disconnect it from the old app first to connect it to the new one.

  • The new Hotels app is not supported in Wix Templates yet.

  • Currently, sites with the new Hotels app can’t be duplicated.

We plan on extending availability to all accounts in the future. Details on this extension will be made available upon release.

Please feel free to leave your feedback about the new app in this form , or in the comments section below. @erezgo and the team look forward to your input.

I went to the link and received this below - Is this a paid app or will it replace Wix Hotels?
Also why use someone else platform instead of improving your own, there is a whole team working on wix hotels I believe + only available on desktop???
Rather defeats the purpose of modern design don’t you think?

A liitle help if I may? I want to have a play and I am seeing the “This App Isn’t Available Anymore” screen. When you say “only open to Premium Accounts in English who have not installed Hotels” does that mean if I have the old Hotels App installed in any of my sites I won’t be able to install the new one? Also, the site I want to add it to has to have a premium subscription already? @pazd

Correct, but I’ll tap the PM just to verify.

Same message with me.

@stevenjose any update on this?

So even if it is installed on ANY site in my portfolio I can’t install it on a different Premium site??

Hey,
If you ever installed Wix Hotels on any of your site, you currently won’t be able to install the new application.
In addition, The application is available only to premium sites at the moment.

So the people who would get most value out of this cannot test it? Why? In my opinion HotelRunner are pretty second rate and the customer service is virtually non existent, I am surprised you continue to partner with them. Is the new app a significant improvement on the last? as the current one has far to go!

Totally agree, LittleHotelier, Newbook and many other are far superior to HotelRunner & why is there an entire team working in Wix Hotels just to refer them to another platform?

How can you expect genuine feedback on the beta product from users who have never had experience of wix hotels on the first place? do you guys not see how backward this all seems?

@info50531 From my understanding, they are not referring you to another service. They are using another service as the skeleton, which allows you to connect to all of the other platforms.

Why reinvent the wheel? If you had waited for Wix to create the whole infrastructure on their own, not only would you have been waiting longer, you would also have less features rolled out as they have to upkeep the infrastructure they build

I have a felling it is likely because of a technical limitation of some sort. If they push the new update out to all Partners, it perhaps might update it on client sites, which is likely not intended as they are still in Beta (considering it is such a big change, it’s likely not a good idea for it to be rolled out completely to clients until it is completely ready)

@noahlovell Have you seen the new app? Is it significantly better than whats there already? Could you describe whats new and good about it?

@noahlovell Well we’ve been waiting 8 years already since wix hotels was released, it’s a decent platform, just needs a few more features. HotelRunner is not a good program either, I have used it several times and ended up using other platforms - Newbook is the one I use most, Prenohq for some, LittleHotelier for 1.

Or experience with hotel booking systems and mapping to OTAs.

@gergemina I have seen the new app (haven’t used it), and it is much improved. I haven’t spent much time with either the old or updated version, so can’t give specifics, but I know it is far better.

Just waiting for it to be rolled out to my account

@info50531 It’s definitely an app that has need some TLC for a long time. Sure, it had the basic features, but sometimes it’s easier to start from scratch.

HotelRunner is the infrastructure, but you are interfacing through Wix. I’m sure having a hands on with it will be better than going off prior experience.

(If I’m not mistaken, HotelRunner was the infustructure behind the current Hotels App (Old), but I might be wrong)

I’ve lost count of the amount of tickets and complaints with the last 2 sites I built with Wix Hotels… I would figure I should be an excellent candidate to test this release given the amount of hours and the lost client I endured and I can’t test this?! I could cry at this point what a disappointment, this should have been rolled out to partners who HAVE used and complained about the Wix Hotels… What a shame I was hoping for a lot more out of this “release”

Absolutely!! Having said that I have used HotelRunner and it is sadly lacking + I have just started on a new site and even for a small business with only 6 cottages he has decided to use Newbook, probably the MOST superior accommodation booking system I have used & I have used at least 6 I can recall just from memory but over the last 30 years in hospitality & Tourism, there are probably more.
Also since Wix Hotels began over 8 or so years ago and a whole team working on it I would have hoped they had come further.
