Can You Set a Dataset Permission (read/write/both) to a Single Element on a Page?

Question:
I have a dataset on a page connected to several different elements. Some elements need to be in WRITE only mode to allow users to add info to the dataset, while other elements need to be READ only to read some fields from the same DATASET. When I set the dataset mode to Read & Write, the elements behave in a way that doesn’t work well. (I.E the input box element that should be on write only, shows data from the dataset, when I need that input box blank to allow users to type in info)

What are you trying to achieve:
I need a way to use a dataset on a single page, but set certain elements to either READ only from the dataset or WRITE only.

What have you already tried:
General troubleshooting, research on YouTube/Google, looking through this forum, and reading Wix website and Data API

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thus far it seem like the dataset mode is set for the entire page and I fear there is no way to change permissions at the element level.

You add an additional dataset and set it to read only. The filter to the new dataset would be to match item from original dataset.

Thank you so much @codequeen. Aghhh how did I not think of that , sometimes the simplest option is the best.
