Can't seem to prevent spam signups

Our site has a forum, which requires users to sign up as members. However, recently we have been getting several member signups from spam bots a day. I have reCAPTCHA set on the sign up form, and I have email verification turned on, but neither of those are working to prevent or even slow down the issue.

What is really strange to me is that these spam bots are not registering as site traffic, and we are not getting emailed when they sign up, which does happen when legitimate users sign up through the sign up form. It makes me wonder if they are even using the signup form, but Iā€™m not sure how else they would be able to sign up.

If anyone else has experienced this or knows what could be causing the issue, I would really appreciate some insight.

I am having the same issue, there is even no sign up form however site members are getting registers somehow.
