Can't Verify and Connect Site to Google Console

I have reorganized my live web site removing some pages and added new ones. I want to manually tell Google to reindex all of my pages. When I attempt to connect to the Google console it fails. It then provides me with a small html file to download - which I did. Then it simply says to upload it to my site’s home page. I tried copy and pasting the code in the home page onReady function, but this just shows error - which is what I would expect. So, exactly where to I place this file (or its contents)? To my knowledge, I don’t have access to my home page’s actual html code so I can’t add a meta tag to it’s head section.

Alternatively, Wix help says to copy a meta tag and paste it into my site’s home page. So, again exactly where in my home page do I put this code?? See screenshot below.
