Hello, I am trying to verify my Google G Suite with my website jb-motors.de. I got the required meta tag code from Google and i did put it in the Editor for meta tags in the SEO section. After saving and prssing publish, i go to the site and check for the meta name in the source code. It is there.
But unfortunately when i press verify on google it always fails and says it cannot find the meta tag.
I copy and pasted the code several times but it does not want to work.
Can anyone help me?

Have you published the site? If that don’t work use the tracking tool and add Custom Tool, enter your Meta and select header.

The site is published. I also tried adding the custom meta and select header just as you said, but it is still not working.
I really dont understand why. I can see the tag in my header twice.

I found it! Somehow a different gmail account which I used for creating the wix account hat the Website in the google search console and already verified, even tho I never did a verification in the first place with that account. (how can that even happen - a verification without using a meta name or anything)
Anyway I got it working. Thank god
