How to make a smooth shopping experience for personalized products

What are you trying to achieve:
I’m creating a website for a friend, and the only thing missing is to perfect the purchasing aspect. It’s basically a website where you can get personalized wallpaper for your home or business. There are a few existing designs but the customer can submit their own. There’s four different types of paper to choose from with different characteristics and price per m². Only the paper has a price, the printing itself is free, per say. The customer only needs to pay for the material used.
So the purchasing process should be:
First: Pick the design, either an existing one or submitting the image for printing
Second: Choose a type of paper
Three: Indicate the needed measurements, so ideally there’d be some calculation on how many m² are needed
Four: Checkout
I’ve been over a few possibilities but I am not experienced enough to make it work so far. Help greatly appreciated
If any kind of calculation is required, then you are bound to customizing it with coding only. Simple possible way is to use maybe standard wix forms with some logic? although the user experience is not good then
Since Wix Stores only offers variant-based pricing and does not have an inbuilt feature that allows users to customize the product and calculate the total cost, this can only be done using Wix Velo, where a custom coded product page will take care of the entire logic flow and price calculation, and can also generate a custom product based on this which is added to the cart allowing the user to checkout - just like with any other product.
