Does our revolutionary Web design and development platform finally offer one of the most standard and expected tools - clicking an image and displaying its larger version in a popup? (Like a lightbox, just for that image).
Not a Pro Gallery, which is likely resource heavy and takes extra effort to set up, but simply click and popup! Wix Editor had it for ages.
Completely puzzled and frustrated by the lack of this mandatory feature. Or did I miss something? Not looking for workarounds like “Click Events” or javascript.
@Alexander_R As of now in Studio, you can only achieve this by using a single image in the pro gallery, or linking the image to a lightbox that has a larger view of the image.
This got me thinking that maybe it’s more common for site visitors to have the need to expand images when there is more than one, like in a gallery or repeater? Did you use the expand feature on an previous site you had?
This would be a great suggestion to submit as a feature request! Be sure to submit this on the Product Roadmap page and click the ‘Request a Feature’ button.
I’m sorry, I’ve already reported more than 20 issues and suggestions to Wix and unfortunately I’m all out of free-consulting time (and patience, haha). There’s a role called Product Owner, Product Manager and all types of UX roles that would typically take care of the user experience, feature set, and quality in general. Let those fine folks handle it.
I want Wix Studio to get ahead of its competitors, not fall behind. Right now, it’s falling behind.
It doesn’t make sense to use one big image gallery and throw all pictures in it, because that ruins contextuality and relevance of images. Nobody on the support team was able to tell me about the potential overhead and load times related to the Pro Gallery.
There are so many users wondering why important features were dropped - just like our friend AnthonyAllioo in this thread. Taking useful features away from users won’t win a company any bonus points.
@Alexander_R Fair enough! I still make note of all posts and advocate for them all, so just know we hear you Any time you have any thoughts or ideas, please don’t hesitate to share them, especially in the forum.
Regarding the popup image, I’m trying to find out more information if it’s planned or if there was a reason for not offering that behavior.
Pamela, I appreciate that. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to have ChatGPT scan the forum and find anything that sounds like a “bug report” or “complaint”, then ask for the most frequently occurring ones. The power of AI
HI Pamela, I am very interested in this too, will sav a lot of unnecessary work, I ma migrating a large website from editor to studio, thinking it was mature enough and then finding this simple implements that are not working in studio :((
