I’m the verified owner of the site and I’ve been in contact with someone named John Lockwood who claims to be a Wix specialist. Despite my attempts to remove him from my site, he retains access and is now referencing “significant risks” and offering to delay payment. This feels inappropriate and potentially fraudulent.

I am not sure I understand what has happened to your website. How did Mr. Lockwood become a contributor on your website without your permission? Regardless of how this began, you should certainly be able to remove him from the website. I am going to try to bring @noahlovell into this discussion to see if he can be of more help than me. That said, while you are waiting to resolve this, I encourage you to report it to Wix and make a copy of your website as it is today so that if this mystery man makes any changes you have a backup to help you restore your website.
