Contacts needs many fixes

This article describes the current limitations of the ‘site signup’ n #WixForm ito ‘snail mailing’ process in editorx via the #WixContacts.

  1. Currently (apparently, really?) the address auto-fill feature is not available in X (!!!). This gives us 2 options, each with pros & cons: Place multiple discreet address fields on the form, or, ask the user to enter their entire address in 1 field, during which they invariably type a ‘return’ character, thereby submitting the form, which results in them either not submitting their full address (no city, state, zip (so we have to chase them to get it)) or, they make several attempts to submit, creating duplicate records in Contacts, which we need to then clean up.

Please enable the Address Auto-fill in Editor X forms ASAP.

  1. In order to clean up the resulting addresses, we need to specify the Country in order to reveal the “State” field. We are in the United States (at the bottom of the menu), which takes several keystrokes AND a mouse click to choose.

Please provide an easier way to either enter the ‘State’ / "Prov’ field directly, or to select “United States” (such as put it to the top of the list, as it’s likely the most commonly selected country (for better or worse), or better yet, make it so entering in a postal code will auto-enter the City and State.

  1. Then when clicking into the State, we see only the fully spelled out state name, not the 2 letter abbreviation the USPO prefers Currently, after we export the data, someone needs to manually go through all the fields and update the state names to the accepted abbreviation.

Please make the drop down for State be the initials, not the full name.

  1. Some users sign up with just their email, and others provide their mailing address as above. I need to export just those contacts WITH a full address (or the Address 1 is ‘not empty’). So I do the filter and export, and discover that the entire data set has been exported.

Please make it so only the currently filtered data set is exported.

  1. Once someone signs up, we send them something in the mail. We have added a “Package Sent” date field. We need to search / filter / export only the contacts that do NOT have a value in “Package Sent” field, but there is currently not a way to do that, as date fields only factors existing data, not “Is Empty”.

Please add “Is Empty” to date field filters, and allow for multiple concurrent filters.

Hey! Thanks so much for your feedback. For our team to be able to work on this feature request, you should create a “feature request” via your partner dashboard.

Hi Anna - thanks for responding! I admit I’m a bit confused - I use the Support function (& helpful agents) in the Partner area quite a lot, and I understand that they can submit requests based on a call with them, but are you saying that this designated “Feature Requests” area of the Parent Forum is NOT an effective place to submit requests?

A challenge with the Priority Support mechanism is that doesn’t specifically provide a direct option for Feature Requests, so it’s a bit frustrating. One advantage to posting here is that it doesn’t take a support agent’s time to listen and then re-write, not to mention other folks can ‘vote’ on these requests (although that’s not as active as I’d hope!). So far I’ve made 14 feature requests here in the Feature Request category on the assumption that it’s the designated place to do it? Is it not?

I would love there to be a designated “Feature Request” area in the Partner Support area…

Thanks again!

Hi again Anna - I’m still just looking for confirmation that the Partner Community Forum Category called “Feature Requests” is actually NOT the place to enter… feature requests? Part of my confusion is this area is named “Feature Requests”, and there is a post pinned at the top of the Partner Announcements category that describes exactly how to submit requests here using this Category?

Meanwhile, the one you screenshotted above re: Partner Support is called “Contact Us for Advanced Partner Support”, and actually doesn’t have any text or buttons that say “Feature Request”. The only options appear to be chatting with the bot to retrieve articles on existing features, or communicating with a support agent, which takes both my time and theirs. I understand that they can then place a request on my behalf (and they have), but I’d feel better if I could make the request directly myself, to make sure it’s got every facet that I’m ‘requesting’.

I don’t mean to sound snarky, I just really want to know the right place to make a request, and I’ve got quite a list, and I’d like to ‘request’ them sooner rather than later?
