Hello there, I have been building my website with Wix for more than 2 years now. I am learning new things in Wix and Corvid daily. Wix has made it easier for the people who are new to web development by providing a lot of features, Corvid and newly introduced Editor X being the best of them.
I did not know anything about web development prior to I got introduced with Wix, through a YouTube Ad. And that ad literally changed my life. I studied science till my high school and I am currently studying Business Administration in my university. From high school, I had basic knowledge of HTML and C#, which is helping me to learn Corvid very easily. Since I was a novice in web development, I started playing around templates. Me and my friends had a business idea but for that we needed a website. After knowing about Wix, we decided not to hire a web developer and start our own website making journey. Along the way our team got bigger and our website is just coming in its full shape. And now I have two clients, who’s website I made out from scratch. Templates, nowadays, help me to take some innovative design ideas and implement them on my client site. Now, I feel comfortable with start building a website from scratch.
Since, we now have a bigger team, we formed up some more business ideas. We are also planning to form up a web agency, where we will be making our client’s websites through Wix. Wix has made our life a lot easier. Our programming does not has to think about the CSS code, hence they can focus more on the functionality. On the other hand, there are some more complex things which can be done without writing a single line of code.
I and one of my team members were working on our custom search and search result filtering for the last couple of days. My team member had a big hiatous in programming hence he takes a little time to figure out the code. So he tried to figure out the code but the code worked 50% the way we wanted it to work. And then I suddenly realised that, there is an option to filter the search result with the dataset filter options. My search result filter consists of 3 dropdowns and a slider. So, I started connecting the dropdowns to the dataset filter options and it worked just the way we wanted. But we could not do it with the slider.
I know that, the Wix team reads the forum posts on a regular basis and tries to understand our problem and give solution according to that. Hence, I would like to state that, if Wix had an option of connecting various input elements to the dataset filtering instead of just dropdowns, it would have been a lot easier for a web developer like me, who are a lot in number in Wix Community . So, it would be very helpful if you guys add such an option so that we can connect more user input elements to the dataset filtering options to make our workflow easier.
Lastly, I would like to add a few queries as to Editor X. which are -
1. Can we edit our previous projects on Editor X when it comes out?
2. Are we getting more templates in Editor X?
I would be very glad, if you guys could let me know about my queries as to the dataset filtering options and Editor X. Thank you.
