Hi Guys, Hope you all enjoying your 3rd Sunday of 2020.
Can someone tell me how to de-index previously indexed pages? There are few pages on my site that I don’t want them to appear in search results anymore. Although i have used the toggle in the editor to hide the pages, they still appear in search results. The pages are listed under " Indexed, not submitted in sitemap" in the Search Console.
Thank you for your help!
Hey There!
You sure can - Here is the article: https://support.wix.com/en/article/hiding-a-page-from-search-engines-google - Is this the one you used? And you are saying that it’s still being listed under google?
Another option is to password protect it (although that may not work for you).
I have followed this help article. The pages still appear in search results though. They come under “indexed - not submitted in sitemap” tab in the Google search console. I did some research. here’s what Google Support has to say: To remove url permanently - make the page return 404 page not found. Google will take this into account and eventually remove the page from it’s index. So, one way to do this in Wix is to change the url of the indexed page so that it will return 404 error, which is what i have done precisely. And maybe then Google will take my hint. Crossed!
This is good info - thanks a lot. I am sure it will Nemo the next!
