Design Elements across sections

Hello ,
Can you help me with my new fix studio page?
I want to have some design elements (vectors or images) across sections and reaching until/beyond the edges of my page.

I have encountered two problems:

  1. if I set background colors to the sections the background color appears semi-transparent on top of my design element.

  2. Even though I set overflow on hide it still shows with the scroll bar (at least on preview, I haven’t published the site yet.)

Do you have a link to the site, or perhaps some screenshots of what’s happening.

I’m struggling to follow point 1.

For point 2, that does seem a little strange, double check it’s the parent element (the element above the one you want to be hidden in the layers panel) is the one set to overflow hide.
