Following! Interested in seeing if there is a way to do it with code.
I’m sure there’s a much more clever way to do this with Code - but you could also try embedding a right click protect code using the HTML element on the blog feed page and the single post page.
Thanks for the suggestion Sheyla. I’m a bit new to using code with WIX. Would you be able to provide a sample/example so I can try it out?
Thanks in advance!
You would have to locate the code on your own, but here’s a guide on how to use to the element as well as the limitations:
Hi. I’m a product manager at Wix, prioritizing all the expert feature requests we receive. I’d love to learn a bit about why you need this feature. The functionality is very clear, but I’m curious about use cases in which disabling right click on the blog is important. Does it have to do with preventing image downloads?
Reinhardts , having right click function disabled would help cut down on stolen copyright materials. Whether that be written or visual content. For example, it would be more difficult to copy and republish stories. That is just one of the content types that disabling right click would protect.
Modern Roots Marketing , this can be accomplished by adding copyright / right click disable HTML code to your website using Wix code. Like Sheyla mentioned, you would need to locate and perform the code on your own. Her guide might help.
I have not been able to apply this correctly within the BLOG. Any direction on this is appreciated.
This is for a photography website. The Photographer shares blogs about some of her shoots and shares a select few photos from each shoot. She does this to boost her website’s SEO and provide regular content to her community. This is why doing this within the blog is more desirable than trying to setup a Portfolio page every time she wants to share a shoot.
@modernrootsmktg I’m not sure if this is technically possible using the Wix Blog app, since you don’t really have any way to access the different dynamic templates. Maybe putting the iFrame on the “static” blog page in the editor will work…but that’s a big maybe.
I’d be able to set you up with a customized blog if you’re interested, with all the same functionality of the app + full customizability. If you’re interested, contact me and let me know so I can do some testing on adding the right-click protection.
@skmedia I’d like to be able to learn how to do this on my own as this is something we are trying to achieve for our client.
Plus, I believe that WIX should be able to provide a way to prevent right-clicking within their New Blog.
Thank you for reaching out.
@modernrootsmktg Sure thing, hope you find something that works! Maybe applying a global script in tracking & analytics?
That’s what I suspected, but wanted to confirm. Thanks @TNW Creations
@skmedia exactly what I was getting at, but you said it better. lol
