Displaying a PDF file from Database

I would like to create a dynamic item page with a pdf file displayed in it.
As if I put a PDF Viewer widget in the page, only the widget itself apparently can’t be connected to DB. (yet?)

Is there a way to do it?
And without opening another tab?

(The reason is I have different content files - some with pictures and diagrams - so it could be very efficient to show them as PDF)

Ditto if anyone can help.

Hi,
There is no builtin feature at this moment.
Feel free to add a feature request here .

Did anything ever happen with this? What’s the point of having a ‘document’ field type on a database if there’s no way to display it on a page?
Surely this is an extremely common requirement.

I’m having the same problem and questions. “Why in the world is there a ‘document’ field type on database if you can’t display it???” Is there any way to display a pdf or powerpoint file in database so that readers can download off the webpage?

A am also needing this feature. It seems like it shouldn’t be too hard to implement.
