Hi there,
I’m interested in using the Wix FAQ widget, and it seems great, but does Google see the questions and answers displayed within the widget?
Thank you!

I like to know that too
Hi James. I was looking into this too. Recently launched a site with a comprehensive FAQ page using the Wix FAQ app. I just checked Google Search Console, and the page is live but not indexed. The test gave back some errors, namely under “Page Resources” “couldn’t be loaded” and the https://frog.wix.com/ which initially concerned me.
However, when I ran the url inspection tool page came up as available and apparently can be indexed. So, I submitted it to be indexed. (If you’re interested, I’ll let you know what happens when I have an update.)
Another idea is to submit FAQ Schema markup to the page, which I am also doing. I generated the “FAQ page” code here: Schema Markup Generator (JSON-LD) | TechnicalSEO.com and the test came back as valid.
So, to answer your question, looks like yes. As an html component, it can be read by Google and also it should be indexable for SEO purposes.
I did notice on the live site when I open up reading mode (to double check UX, Accessibility and DOM order, the reading mode skips over the entire FAQ page content, which is not great, but because that’s the main content of the page:
This is likely doing to the HTML iframe setup of the FAQ app.
If anyone at Wix could provide further insight that would be helpful!
As far as I can tell, Google does not automatically see or index FAQ widget questions and answers. Only the full page can be indexed to Google. That said, each question and answer has a shareable url. So, you can promote your questions and answers via social media. I hope this helps.
