[Doubt] The image is cropped. How to fix it?

I add an image in the section but the image is not full. How to fix it?

Full Image

Settings (cog wheel on your 1st screenshot) then reset image.

Thanks a lot janet! It works!

Hello I have the same problem lots of times, surely you dont have to keep doing this fix

Hi,
I am Naama from Editor X Product Team.
An image does scale-to-fill into the bounding box. So if you change source to an image with a different aspect ratio then by the definition, not all the image will be presented, as we preserve the dimensions of the bounding box (to avoid breaking the layout you designed). But simply click on ‘Reset Image’ under ‘Settings’ and the original aspect ratio will be set.

Hi, Naama from Editor X Product Team.

Why does your product have such a pathetic time doing the most simple task. All I’m trying to do is add an image of the logo to the website, that’s it! Literally it! Annnnnnd here’s what your product does every time. When adding the image, it decides to crop it for no reason, either on the bottom or on the sides. AND that’s not it! When I finally do manage to have the whole image show up, after hours of fiddling with the thing and simply go to resize the dang image, BOOM. The thing completely crops all 4 sides and I’m back to square one.

Why? and Help! I don’t understand why such a massive company has issues with such a simple gosh darn task.

Hi,
I am sorry for your experience.

While there are users who work hard on adjusting the layout of the image component, by setting its position, docking, margins, etc. and all they want is to change its source while nothing else would change, there are other users who expect to update the image proportions depending on the new source. For a stretched image inside a container/section, the image size is filling in the container’s space and you can adjust which area is shown.

  1. EditorX allows you to reset the image proportions after changing the source from the Settings of the image. This will reveal 100% of the media and un-stretches the image (if it was stretched before).
  2. Going forward - we plan on supporting a new image scale type - scale-to-fit which will resolve it.

Scale to fit should have been the first damn option on the list. The fact that this post is almost 6 months old and its still not implemented is really unimpressive.

As a result I have to have 27 COPIES of my damn logo that I have to hide and unhide at certain points because you don’t have a simple scale to fit option.

feedback received and will be forwarded to our developers, we are sorry that you’ve got a problem with this and do hope that scale to fit will be released soon

we apologize for any bad experience you’ve got

Hello, i have the same issue with the images and it would be great to have “scale to fit” feature asap. Thank you

feedback received and will be forwarded, thank you

Recommend setting the images as Set Proportionally and if it looks strange, you can reset the image in the settings. Depending on the sizing that is needed, you can always use the minimum and maximum.

How is it possible that this problem still exists when you see the complexity of the site!

Apart from the logo problems, the repeaters are a real hell when you want to place an image inside connected to the data !!!

The prices of editor X are much more expensive than those of Wix but there are less features. AND ESPECIALLY on Wix there are no image problems since you have fitmode!!! Which is not compatible on Editor X as by chance

Would it be possible that this problem is finally solved!

HOW is this still a thing 8 MONTHS LATER! This RIDICULOUS! Guys you need to fix such things or you will loose Users! I’m about to quit Wix. There are so many bugs. Things like that cost me hours of work. Thought Editor X was a great investment. But i really feel let down!

In case this was missed, there are fit modes for images, in the cog wheel image settings

Hope this helps

hey there
there is no ongoing issues in this thread and Fit mode was added long time ago to Editor X
can you share some details on the situation you are experiencing?
