I’ve got a dynamic page dataset which isn’t loading the dataset.
The editor/preview do recognize it’s a dynamic page, as it’s providing the interface to choose the item instance. But it’s not loading the data and I get
$w(#dynamicDataset).getCurrentItemIndex = 0
Wix people, could you have a look?
@brett-haralson @amit-wix @alexander-jdanov can you can have it checked out?
I’m seeing this on my experimental website-6, here is my site editor.
There are 2 similar dynamic pages with this dataset, might that have something to do with it?
The first dynamic page below works. The second one, (using the same DB) does not work.

@alexander-wix @brett-haralson @yisrael-wix @yoav-wix Can someone from Wix have a look or suggest a workaround/fix?
We will take a look, please share the problematic page (Bid Pages or Project pages)
Thanks.
@experimentnoxx Hi. It seems that you have an invalid reference filter applied to the Bid dataset on the problematic dynamic page. Remove it and try once again.
Please let me know if this doesn’t help.
Regards, Alex
@aleksander-denga Removing it helps immediately, but the problem returns. After removing it, I again linked it to the ProjectReference to the Project Item. That works fine, I was able to preview it and scroll through the several pages of different projects… but then the reference suddenly broke again… Why does it first work and then break?
@alexander-jdanov thanks. It’s the Bid pages, but as you can see below Aleksander Denga already found it. Although the problem isn’t solved yet, there’s seems to be a stability problem. Would appreciate it if you have a quick look again.
@experimentnoxx Hi. Please describe the issue more detailed. For now I see that the invalid filter is still applied on the affected page. Did you try to remove it and save site?
Regards, Alex
@aleksander-denga yes. I removed it. Then again applied the filter, and it worked. I tested in in preview mode, scrolled through the several available dynamic pages without problems. Then the working filter somehow again became invalid…
@experimentnoxx Thank you. I’ll see what can be done in this case.
Meanwhile, could you please describe the specific steps, resulting in getting this invalid filter? Like what exactly do you do after you delete this filter from the dataset? It will immensely help to indicate where does the problem comes from.
Regards, Alex
Hi. We couldn’t see the page with problematic filter on your site anymore. Thus, it is almost impossible to continue investigation - issue needs more details for reproduction.
Please let me know if you still struggling with this or if you have the scenario about how to reproduce the issue. Thanks
@aleksander-denga thank you. I did actually try it again, and it staid valid this time - so far. I can’ reproduce it again either. But it did happen twice…
Is there anything I should be aware of that I might do after I set the filter which could afterwards invalidate it?
@aleksander-denga @alexander-jdanov it’s been awhile, but I’m again busy with this site and seeing similar issues. Why and how could a filter I created via the GUI break?

I removed and returned the filter, and now see it working. But why and when does this happen?
The example above is from here , the page testPayments
Hi @experimentnoxx
Last time we had a conversation in this thread, I reported this issue for our developers to check, but the problematic dataset was removed before they were able to find out what is wrong with it.
So, if you’ll manage to reproduce this error again, please make a copy of the page (or even better - try to reproduce on a test page).
It is almost impossible to make a fix not having the error at hand.
Thank you,
Alex
@aleksander-denga You are right of course. I understand it may be difficult to reproduce. i was hoping you had an educated guess. If I come across it again, i’ll try to leave it as is to give you a chance to look at it. That’s not always an option of course. Mind you, if you look higher up in the thread you’ll see i already left it in the error state once for you.
