Dynamic search button linked to dynamic list pages

Hey all.

Me again.

So far I have everything working on my site, EXCEPT for my search button.

I have seven dynamic pages (item and list) populated with digital products.

The standard Wix Site Search button does work, however it only sees the static pages on my site, not the dynamic list or item pages pages - infuriating!

On search results page/ settings: "Choose pages to show in search results and edit what’s displayed" - only two pages are available - “Products” and “Other pages”.

I have tried everything possible, but my dynamic pages do not appear in search results.

Next, I tried using Searchanise. I keep getting this error message:

This makes no sense, as my domain is assigned to my store.

I contacted Searchanise. They reverted and I gave them access as a collaborator, but I have not heard from them again.

Next, I set up a custom search button, following a tutorial on WIxWiz.

That search button works, with a repeater showing results on the home page.

But it just shows text.

What I realised, however, is that I need the search to open a new page and populate this page with search results, in the form of list repeaters of my products, so customers can either add to cart from the list repeaters, of go to the appropriate dynamic product page.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Update.

I made a plan, which I will share if others want to use the same design (apologies if this method is already out there and patently obvious!).

I duplicated my products’ list page and renamed the duplicate “Search Page”

I inserted a blank section and added a text input element and a button which I labelled “Search”. I used Velo code (not my own - thanks Eitan!) to configure text elements in the repeater to respond to text input in the input button. All the other elements in the repeater show, so with a click, a customer can add to cart.

Lastly, I placed a “Search” button in my header that will take me to the search page.

Works like a charm.

I hope this may help others.

Sorry for my excitement. I am new to code and web development. Like a kid in a candy shop!

Hi, @Barry_Joel !!

I think it’s wonderful to be able to develop with the excitement of a kid in a candy shop! Please don’t ever forget that feeling!
